The Truth about UV

I have been in the optical industry for years and can remember when we started putting UV protection on all of our glasses and sunglasses that were being made in the lab for our customers to block UV and protect eye health. UV Rays are aging us every day. Sun, no sun, Winter, Summer, UV is there and you need to wear great sunglass lenses to protect the delicate skin around your eyes and of course to protect your eye health too. The optical industry has done a great job at educating about UV protection for eye health. Now lets go a step further and start talking about preventing crow’s feet, fine lines, and wrinkles around the eyes with great UV protective Velvet Sunglasses.

This slide and experiment was simple and to the point. I wanted an easy way to SHOW the effects of UV. I had an idea it might work to demonstrate my point, but I had NO idea it would be so quick. After just 4 days and very little sun the leaf without the protection of our Velvet {BB} Lens started to deform, discolor, and dry out, significantly more than the leaf that was protected with our Velvet {BB} Lens.

Let’s tell and SHOW all of our customers and patients about the benefits of wearing UV protection. Using BB creams for the face, and {BB} Lenses for your sunglasses on a daily basis will help reduce crow’s feet, fine lines, and the signs of aging in and around your eyes.
