We were thrilled to recently run into Brooklyn based fashion blogger and photographer Elle Ribera of Opium Poppies on the 6 Train. Velvet attended The 23rd Annual Fashion Accessories Benefit Ball
On Wednesday night, our founder, Cindy Hussey, attended The 23rd Annual Fashion Accessories Benefit Ball in Manhattan. The benefit honored two top players in the world of accessories – Nordstrom and Crimzon Rose. The purpose behind the event was to bring together all areas of the accessories industry for a night of glam, fun and recognition – while also raising money for charity. This year’s ball benefited the Wounded Warrior Project and the National Vietnam Veterans Foundation. The dining was delicious and exquisite, followed by a wonderful evening of cocktails and dancing! Looking forward already to next year’s event!

POSH benefits Lighthouse International, a leading non-profit organization dedicated to fighting vision loss through prevention, treatment and empowerment. Proceeds from the POSH sale help support a variety of services enabling children, music students, teens and older clients of Lighthouse International to enjoy independent and productive lives.
The four-day sale features thousands of items, including new and gently worn clothing, shoes and accessories for women and men. New items are replenished daily.
This year, Emmy Award-Winning Television Talk Show Host, Jewelry Designer, Fashion Critic and longtime POSH patron, Joan Rivers is helping support Lighthouse International by recording two commercials promoting the POSH Sale. The commercials will appear across Time Warner Cable Networks.

We had a great time last week at the 5th Annual Fashion & Football Draft Congratulations Gala & Runway Show at the Audi dealership in Mid-town! Hosted by NY Jet Aaron Maybin and NFL Vet Matthew Rice, the event brought both fashion and sports together for the night. The 2012 NFL draft party was a major success!
